Indiana Jewelers Association
About the IJA
The Indiana Jewelers Association is a statewide community of independent jewelers — a place to connect with peers, stay ahead of security threats, sharpen the craft, and build stronger businesses together.
Our mission
We exist to support Indiana's independent jewelers — the family-owned stores, bench jewelers, designers, and specialists who serve their communities every day. Through education, connection, and shared security, the IJA helps its members protect what they've built and keep the trade thriving across the state.
What membership includes
- Security alert network — moderated, member-only alerts about crimes and suspicious activity affecting jewelers, plus a confidential channel to report incidents.
- Annual conference — a full day of education, connection, and industry updates. Our 2026 conference is Sunday, October 25 at Prairie Waters Event Center in Westfield.
- Member directory — a verified public listing that helps Indiana shoppers find trusted independent jewelers.
- Design competition — showcase your best custom work, with category winners and an attendee People's Choice award at the conference.
- Member forum — a private community to trade advice, ask the board, and learn from other Indiana jewelers.
- Vendor & partner connections — a network of suppliers, designers, and industry partners who support the trade.
Who we serve
Membership is open to independent jewelry businesses across Indiana — and to the whole team behind each store, from owners and buyers to bench jewelers, gemologists, and sales staff. Vendors, designers, and industry partners are welcome too.
Who keeps this going
You do. The Indiana Jewelers Association is funded by the store owners who pay dues — $195 a year, per store, from independent jewelers who decided the trade in this state is worth organising.
There is no outside money holding this together and no parent organisation underwriting it. Every security alert that goes out, every conference booked, every hour the board spends on association business rests on members choosing to pay for something that benefits jewelers they may never meet. A store that joins is not buying a subscription so much as keeping a piece of shared infrastructure standing.
That is also why dues stay at one flat rate. A single-owner bench shop and a multi-generation store pay the same, because the alert network is worth the same to both, and a price that scales with success would quietly push out the smallest members who need the network most.
Our sponsors & partners
Alongside our members, a small number of organisations support the association's work. They help us put on the conference and keep education in front of Indiana jewelers — and they do it without any say over what we publish, who we alert, or what the board decides.
